Building home extensions is becoming more and more the rage nowadays. Extensions help you transform your home, add value to it, and give you much-needed space for your growing family. If you’re looking to get the best out of your upcoming home extensions, then you need to make a plan, and carry it out accordingly. So, here are some things you need to consider beforehand to successfully build your home extensions.
DO YOU NEED PLANNING PERMISSION?
If you've decided to start preparations for a home extension, you must have the planning permissions( if needed) and follow building regulations.
While you may sometimes require planning permission to build a home extension, most times, you don’t require planning permissions at all. Whilst the majority of extension projects can be carried out without permissions, some projects (involving height restrictions or listed buildings, etc.) can’t be executed without proper planning permissions. Homeowners no longer need full planning permissions to extend the living space of their detached properties upwards. Robert Jenrick, the housing secretary, hoped for people to use the new rules to create space for their elderly relatives, and extra bedrooms for their growing families. With or without planning permissions, you can still get the home extensions you want. According to the home extension experts at https://marriottconstruction.co.uk/house-extensions.html, a good design company should be able to give you free advice on planning and building permissions. CONSIDER YOUR BUDGET
Before you start calling in building experts, architects, or home designers to discuss your extension project, you should first put your budget into consideration. Thinking big is great and all, but all that planning and thinking could go to waste if you do not set a proper budget.
Starting your project and finishing it, are totally different things. Without a proper budget, you could start building your home extension, but you may not get to finish it – because it’s more than you can afford. As exciting and thrilling as your project may be, you need to be honest and realistic about your budget, especially to your architect. When you inform your architect of how much money you’re prepared to spend on the project, it’ll be much easier and faster to get things done. A professional architect would always propose extension designs that not only have the best value but also match your budget. This is why you must set a proper budget for your home extensions, beforehand.

It's good to know that you need to consider your budget before you hire anyone. My sister was telling me yesterday afternoon while at my house for dinner about how she is wanting to look into getting an extra room added onto her home, and she wanted to know planning tips. I'll make sure to pass these tips along to her once she finds a contractor that can help her with adding a home extension.

You must obtain approval before performing any big work on your property. This may ultimately determine your vision for you, but it is critical to speak with your local government as soon as you begin planning an addition. You're good to go once you know what's authorized. Although councils may not necessarily require planning clearance, there will be construction regulations that must be followed. It's preferable to receive this information from the start rather than being disappointed when the project you envisioned can't be completed.

I appreciate your saying that you should examine your budget before contacting building specialists, architects, or house designers to talk about your extension project. My mom wants to renovate her house. I'll advise her to consult with house specialists and talk about her budget.
